That said, they need to wait a while. Russ has to happen first, and KD probably has to get retired by both the Nets and Warriors first.

Also, I hate his attitude about this. He's shit talked OKC repeatedly since he left.

The franchise letting PJ Dozier have #35 so quickly after Durant left at least leaves the door open for the possibility of not retiring it. There's no way they would have let anyone take #0 that soon after Russ was gone. However, I do think retiring KD's number will happen eventually, it's just going to be a while.

There's some legitimate bad blood between KD and the franchise, and it's going to take some time for that to settle down. Westbrook will definitely have to get his retired first and as part of a separate ceremony, and KD will likely need to be retired for a few years before it happens. It'll also depend on if KD keeps stirring shit up as his career winds down or if he does more to take accountability for his actions and makes amends.

So, TL;DR: KD will get his jersey retired in OKC, but it'll likely be after Russ, and how long it takes will likely depend on KD's behavior between now and his retirement.
