The LA Clippers reportedly still have interest free-agent center, Joakim Noah, for their final roster spot according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Prior to Friday’s slate of games on ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the LA Clippers are still talking to free-agent center Joakim Noah.

The team does have a single roster spot remaining which they still need to fill. There have not been any recent rumors so many of us assumed the team would just convert Amir Coffey to a fully guaranteed contract for the rest of the year. Woj knows better though.

The Clippers have had reported interest in Noah all season but after it was reported that he was rehabbing from an Achilles injury. If the team is now in talks with him, it seems he is close, if not ready to go.

Noah would shore up the already deep bench even more. There has been a concern all year that the Clippers lack the necessary size to play against certain teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, and Denver Nuggets. Ivica Zubac is the only seven-footer on the roster and the only other player to get consistent center minutes is Montrezl Harrell.

While Noah would not necessarily become part of the team’s rotation, he would give them more size in case of injury or foul trouble. He would also bring playoff experience and a veteran presence to lean on.

Last year in Memphis, Noah appeared in 42 games and put up a solid 7.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. Those numbers aren’t eye-popping but they do show that he still has something left in the tank.
