The German magazine kicker now reported in their Thursday print edition that Alaba wants to earn €25 million per season over the next season—a gigantic package that would be worth €125 million in its entirety. Zahavi wants that sort of deal from either Bayern Munich or another club interested in the left-back, who has been converted into a center back by head coach Hansi Flick. 

"Nobody has contacted us," Bayern president Herbert Hainer has said when asked by kicker about the situation. The potential candidates that could sign Alaba are limited, to begin with, the Austrian would only leave Bayern for a Spanish club—neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid, however, have the funds to complete such a deal. 

"We have made him an offer that is both fair and competitive," Hainer said to kicker. That deal, however, has not been accepted up to this point, and with a potential impasse reached, Bayern are now in danger of losing the former academy player on a free transfer next summer. 

Thiago to Liverpool? - Bayern want at least €30 million

Alaba is not the only player Bayern could lose on a free transfer next summer. Transfermarkt can confirm several media reports that Thiago has told players and staff that he would like a new challenge and that he would be interested to play for Liverpool. 

"We will not allow him to leave for free," Hainer said in the Thursday kicker issue. "Thiago is one of the world's best midfielders." Bayern Munich want in the region of €30 million for the 29-year-old, who was among the club's leaders during Bayern's successful Champions League run. COVID-19, however, means that Liverpool's owner FSG is financially limited and a package of €30m plus the Spaniard's salary is currently considered too much for the Premier League champions.
