What I find most amusing is that the technology exists, is widespread in both VAR and goal-line, and yet, in a World Cup qualifier, that can be worth a place in the world's biggest competition, and they're like "Nah, not worth it", ffs. Even better, they ended the 2 extra refs on the goal line when VAR started being used, and there's neither LOL

GLT is way easier to implement than VAR. And far less prone to controversy -- the whole ball is either past the line or it isn't. No subjectivity around "deliberate" handball, intent in fouls or pubic hairs being offside.

门线技术比起VAR来容易部署多了。而且引起的争议也少很多——要么球整体过线，要么就没过。也不存在类似“故意”手球、蓄意犯规或者体毛级越位这样的主观判罚。

A lot of them. You'd be surprised. Many domestic leagues don't have GLT because of its cost, and that's quite telling considering there are around four to five times more club matches a year than national matches.

Because apparently there are smaller countries that can’t afford to have it installed. I’m guessing they want to have a uniform standard for all WCQ matches. However unlike VAR, Goal Line tech is free of controversy because there is no judgement necessary, the ball is in, or it’s not. It also cannot give a specific team an advantage since it cuts both ways.

I have no idea how many countries are honestly in a position where the can’t afford the tech, but I find it hard to believe that it’s more than a handful. One would think FIFA could subsidize the cost of installing the goal line technology at the very least.

很显然，这是因为还有其他更小的国家负担不起门线技术的安装费用。我觉得他们是想要让所有世界杯预选赛的赛事都采用统一标准，所以才一碗水端平干脆都不用。无论如何，门线技术和VAR完全不同，它完全不会引发争议，因为压根都不需要去裁决，只有进球和没进球两种结果。门线技术也不会给特定一方带来好处，毕竟它对双方都是一样的。

我是不清楚到底有多少国家确实用不起门线技术，但我觉得应该只是少数。有的人也许认为国际足联至少应该对安装门线技术的费用进行补贴才是。

Only CONMEBOL is using it iirc. Most confederations are avoiding using VAR in the WC qualifiers because there are some small countries (like, say, San Marino) that don't have stadiums ready for VAR.

没记错的话，只有南美足联采用了门线技术。大多数的足联都在世界杯预选赛阶段避免使用VAR，因为有些小国（比方说圣马力诺）的球场并不具备安装VAR的条件。
