For clarification: They got the workshop that created the trophy to melt it back down and then supplement it with additional tin to get enough material for the large number of stars. Each star weighs 3.45g and contains 0.06g of the tropy.Also, since it has been an extraordinary football year, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) has given Ajax a second trophy as an exception, giving the trophy a place in the trophy cabinet.

I really like the idea. Sure, I get that it feels 'wrong' for some people, but 1. they got a second trophy. 2. the trophy for the Dutch cup that Ajax won is a replica aswell for example. so it isn't the first time that the 'original' trophy isn't in the trophy cabinet.All in all I think it's a really cool and creative way to honor and thank your fans in a year with extraordinary circumstances. Also really like the video Ajax posted on their Twitter about this.

I thinks that’s pretty cool. Would probably prefer a prominent display of one of those stars in their trophy cabinet instead of a second trophy, I think that would hold more of a connection, but maybe that’s just me.

I dont see in no way at all this can be wrong for anyone. Honestly this is just awesome and a beautiful way of doing things. Imagine if I got something physical of something from my favourite club for being a season ticket holder. I would have it to the day i die thats for sure.
