In my experience people don't usually respect calls that aren't shooting fouls unless super flagrant, too many guys get away with hacking

Imagine calling or trying to get a blocking foul on someone while driving. Or enforcing a 3 second violation.

Not like, ones where we agree an offensive guy has smashed him out the way. He takes set feet charges when guys drive. Like, what kinda bum shit is this. When he gets smashed into and fucks himself up on the cement, he comes up all pissed off n tries to play 1v1 iso for the next 10 plays and never makes a shot.

Played last night. I'm almost exclusively a 3 pt shooter (I'm old) and actually had 3 guys call a foul when I was shooting 3s last night. They did indeed foul me all three times, too. Our guys are generally honest...but anyone involved in the play (offense or defense) can call the foul. And we rarely have disagreements. If there are disagreements then one of the two people involved in the play shoots a 3 to resolve it. No whining or complaining after that. This system works for us...and has for 11 years so far.

I want it to be a technical foul, lose possession and lose the shot attempt/make. It'll change real quick when it is instead of a 4 point play its a turn over and points for the other team.

I've always said - "playing" for the foul isn't playing basketball at all. It's a form of manipulation that seeks to affect the score of the game by virtue of a third parties subjective judgment. It's only ever relative strategically to whatever league or even what official youre playing under. It's arbitrary, soulless and it undermines the integrity of the game quite literally.

What I hate the most is when guys like Lowry and kemba hooked defenders arms on purpose and then flail like they are getting fouled. It just looks ugly every time.

There are plenty more that do this besides them. They also need to address guys plowing into the paint initiating contact and expecting fouls called. Its not really any different than this. I mean what the hell is the defender supposed to do when the player driving into the paint leans into defender with their shoulder, get out of the way?

其实联盟中有很多人都是这样做的。还有一种该被联盟调查的是有些球员突破进去上篮就是冲着造犯规去的，他们就是制造身体接触然后希望得到哨声。其实这跟别的造犯规动作是一样的。我的意思是，当一个球员降低他的肩膀冲向禁区防守球员时，防守球员该做什么难道直接让开吗？

That being said...I’m ok with the 3/4pt play if a defender actually gets baited into jumping into the shooter. The shooter absolutely should fall to get the Refs attention at that point.

But yeah complaining about not getting a call is annoying and honestly it ends up hurting your team more than helping if you don’t get back on defense.
