Jeremy Lin wrote a long Facebook post that might imply that he retired.

林书豪发了一篇长文或许暗示着他将要退役。

“5月17日。在我的脑海里，这一天画了一个圈，这是NBA球队打给我的截止日期。

在CBA打了一年后，我知道，我仍然是一名NBA球员。各支球队都问我，我是否仍保持了打NBA所需的饥渴、健康和技术。他们都想现场看我表现。

所以，我放弃了去海外打球，去了发展联盟——很少有老将会这样。我一直都知道，我需要多迈出几步实现目标。我真的为我在发展联盟的成就感到骄傲——我在发展联盟表现出色，客观上我在各项数据上都领先其他控卫，并且投篮命中率也创生涯新高。

几个月来，我看到了其他人拿到合同，得到机会。我告诉自己，我只需要一份10天合同，让我回到联盟，我就会展示自己。我整个生涯都是如此——我只是需要一个机会证明自己。

出于各种我永远不会知道的原因，这个机会没有来。但是我已经证明过自己，我比以往状态更好，我是NBA球员。就像我说过的……要做远大的梦，就要冒着心碎的风险。

我很幸运——我有过精彩的NBA生涯，我也有能力花一年时间追梦，不用担心钱的问题。我的家人、朋友、商业伙伴都愿意等我做决定，我最终放弃了去中国打球，回到发展联盟。

致所有下一代亚裔球员——我真的希望我打破了更多的偏见，但是接下来要你们努力了。有机会就不要犹豫，不要担心别人的想法。这个世界从来不介意其他人的想法。如果有任何机会质疑你，他们会的。但是如果你离机会只差临门一脚，请踢开它，然后，带上其他人。

我没做到，但是我毫不后悔。我奉献了我的一切，我高扬着头颅。接下来，我相信上帝有他的安排。感谢所有在这趟旅途中支持我的人，爱你们。”

I thought he tried playing in the CBA, but then there were a lot of dislike towards him from the actual Chinese player and he was getting hounded as a player.

As a Chinese person, I can understand the jealousy aspect of Chinese culture. It's hard to break into that market.

He didn’t give up. Other people gave up on him. I think he’s still willing to go for it but if people who are supposed to give him a chance are not going to let him despite the numbers, then he’s walking away with his head held up high. Someone said like he’s the only player in top 11 of GLeague in scoring to not get a 10d contract or something. I think he deserves it and that’s all he was asking for. He was about to unleash Linsanity 2.0. But this time, It’s a matter of respect. And he’s not going to lose respect for himself if other people won’t give it to him.

Personally, I just think he's a 32 year old baller. And teams would rather use their 11th or 12th roster spot on a young guard with upside. It's nothing personal to Lin, this happens to most NBA players that are outside of the Top whatever number of talent.

“A big reason guys get stuck in the G-League is because they don’t realize the position they’re trying out for. It’s like going to a job interview thinking you’re going to be the CFO of the company, and they’re looking for someone to clean the bathrooms.”

Teams are looking for good defenders in the G-League, not primary ball handlers. He's not getting any younger and It doesn't seem like his mentality has changed since he points out that "I killed it in the G League and objectively showed it being a league leader in all the categories a PG should and shooting career-highs across the board." which is not what teams are looking for in an ageing vet.

Great for basketball, all of sports, even dare I say, humanity. After all, that's why we are so attracted to sports. To witness the incredulous, to be able to say I was there when...you can share that across language, culture, generation.This man provided us a DECADE of inspiration. Of hope. And Linsanity was like 13 games?A decade later, and we still follow him, because that was so special, so unique, so transcendent an experience.To me it is the greatest run by a non-great ever in the NBA. I'm lucky to have experienced that first hand.
