Apparently Giggs was supposed to be the first entry, then they decided he was too much of a cunt and they put in Shearer and Henry next.

Lampard did things with the ball that I haven’t seen since. That chipped goal against Barcelona from the touchline has yet to be repeated. I think the only modern player who comes close to comparing to his style is probably KdB. I couldn’t find a video of the goal alone without awful music over it but it’s the fourth one in this video . His chest to turn shot against Barca was also iconic

No one expected that. Lampard tried to go for assist but realized non of his team are close enough so he just go for goal. Most people would try to dribble and wait for team to arrive, not Lampard.

The man did things with a football that I didn't even think were possible.

Everyone talks about that goal against Newcastle, but that's just one of many. His goal against Leicester for his hat-trick is just the kind of moment where you just gawp at the TV and wonder how the fuck he managed to do that, but then again, you could say that about pretty much any of his goals.
