近日美国田径名将莱尔斯（2023年田径世锦赛100米和200米冠军）在200米世锦赛三连冠后的采访中表示：“我看NBA总决赛里他们头上戴着世界冠军的帽子，那是什么项目的世界冠军？NBA把总冠军叫世界冠军，但美国不是全世界。”

接着又补充说： “我们这里才是世界，几乎每个国家都在这里战斗，插上他们的旗帜，表明他们代表着自己的国家，NBA里没有旗帜，我们做得更多，我们（的比赛）才代表着世界” 。
