I think we're overvaluing a few of the additions. Don't get me wrong, the additions are nice. But there's a reason why players like Hayes, Woods, Cam, etc were available at our near the min.

I respectfully disagree. No team can assemble a roster of 12-24 players fit for an NBA rotation without compromising due to the salary cap constraints.

That being said, we've managed to put together a roster full of contractual bargains like Reaves and Prince. Moreover, we've secured the best available free agents for the minimum salary, such as Wood and Hayes.

I don't see any other team with as many contributing pieces on the court and with a synergy as good as the Lakers.

I would think so. Aside from our two stars, we have players now that can become that third guy on any given night like the 2020 team. I think the roster continuity is a big factor too.

It’s deep but not the deepest. Some additions are a bit overrated. Also consider that LeBron and AD are guaranteed to miss 15-20 games every year either due to rest or injury. That seriously cannot simply be brushed off even in this era of load management. I think you can make a case for us being top 3, top 5 at worst. I would still take Nuggets supporting cast and maybe the Bucks. Otherwise we’re firmly 3rd.

Hard disagree on the Nuggets. They had a 7 man rotation in the playoffs and they just lost 2 of those rotation players. Their starting 5 is better but I would argue they actually lack depth.

It depends on how much our guys can slot together in different lineups once the season starts. For example, we can potentially have AD mins next to Wood or Hayes. But, we may be limited in doing that if we also have to play Rui and LeBron as bigs (vs them as wings). Lakers have the luxury of playing big even when going small since Gabe Vincent will be our smallest player.

This team could be incredibly deep but also redundant in some aspects.
