Roma President Dan Friedkin is expected to be back in the Italian capital and to personally supervise the continuation of Roma's campaign.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the American owner is set to return to Trigoria in the coming days where he will meet with the club's management and thus address Roma's long-term plans.

There is still no decision made with regards to the future of Jose Mourinho or General Manager Tiago Pinto – Friedkin wants to be personally involved in the day-to-day decision-making at the club's training grounds throughout the next few weeks.

The feeling is that Friedkin will remain in the capital for quite a while as important questions must be addressed regarding the direction the team is heading into with special consideration for the Giallorossi's results across all competitions in the coming weeks.

Roma are said to be working with an extremely limited budget in the January window.

The capital club are once again forced to operate within very constrained parameters set up by UEFA's Financial Fair Play and the Settlement Agreement.

As reported in today's edition of Il Messaggero, Roma will not be in a position to make any permanent deals in the upcoming transfer window. The capital club will only be allowed to sign players on loan.

The loans themselves will need to be very low-cost, as the newspaper claims Roma have only 1.5 million at their current disposal. That is the Giallorossi's entire budget for the time being.

The club's initial plan to sign a young defender and a top prospect for the future is out of discussion as a result of these parameters.
