北京时间4月17日，美国男篮确定了出征巴黎奥运会的12人大名单，其中76人当家球星，拥有法国国籍的喀麦隆裔球员恩比德入选。

而在今日，欧洲媒体Eurohoops曝光了恩比德2021年致法国总统马克龙的一封私人信件。恩比德在信中表示：“在与法国篮协讨论后，我已经做出了选择。我希望采取措施获得法国国籍，从而能够入选法国队。因此，我不希望为任何其他国家队效力。我从来没有穿过任何国家队的球衣。我非常荣幸能加入法国队参加接下来的重大国际比赛，首先是2024年奥运会和残奥会。”

这封信的内容一经披露便引起了轩然大波，球迷们纷纷表示：说一套做一套。
