北京时间4月23日，NBA季后赛首轮G2，湖人继续客场挑战掘金，本场比赛湖人三军用命，浓眉高效砍下32分11篮板，詹姆斯拿下26分8篮板12助攻，连上一场状态不佳的拉塞尔也有6记三分入账。而掘金方面则是状态极其糟糕，除了约基奇和小波特之外再无球员命中三分球。但湖人最终还是在一度领先20分的情况下被穆雷完成压哨绝杀，99-101不敌对手，系列赛大比分0-2落后。
