北京时间5月4日，湖人官方宣布，球队已经解雇主教练达尔文-哈姆。据ESPN记者Woj报道，知情人士透露，佩林卡在不久前通过电话告知了解雇哈姆的决定。而值得一提的是，哈姆是继2011年的菲尔-杰克逊后，湖人第一个打进季后赛却被解雇的教练。
