FC Barcelona won’t face issues in keeping Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, the two players they signed last summer, registered in La Liga after December 31.

The club are counting on new sources of income before the end of the year. One option is the entry of new investors into Bridgeburg, who will cover the share of the investment that was supposed to come from previous investors.

Another option is the renewal of their Nike sponsorship deal, which is close to being finalized and could be made official in the coming weeks.

Back in 2021, the club’s members approved the sale of 49% of Bridgeburg for €200m to Orpheus Media and Socios. They received €10m from each of the partners at the time and set up a payment schedule: €60m in 2023, €60m in 2024, and €60m in 2025.

In summer of 2023, Orpheus and Socios said they couldn’t keep paying, so Barcelona had to look for new partners. They got 20 million euros from Vestigia and expected 40 million from Libero to cover the 2023 payments, but Libero’s money never arrived. This past summer, Barcelona found a new partner, and Aramark paid 25 of the 40 million euros owed by Libero. Meanwhile, Barcelona bought back part of the shares from Orpheus Media, raising their ownership of Bridgeburg to 53.5%.

With only receiving €55m out of the €200m, a €12m profit in regular business was turning to a net loss of €91m

For a solution , Barça believe that Aramark’s involvement will attract new investors, and Barcelona says that these new investors will join by the end of 2024. The money from these new investors, which has already been accounted for, will help Barcelona comply with La Liga’s financial rules.
