I am also old enough & I gotta say. I HONESTLY thought Jokić was the best player that I have ever seen both with the eye test, stats & advanced stats & i had that discussion quite carefully with my father at first the year Jokić got his first MVP but before he ever won it or we knew. It was still early. So I felt that way long before he was considered by most, "the best on the planet". My 70 year old father who's still clear as day felt the same way. And he got to see the 🐐's before those guys' time! The Adrian Dantleys, The Fat Levers & The 4x MVP & legend, Wilt Chamberlains & Oscar Robinsons. And in Wilts case, Joker is doing things that have never been done since Wilt or ever for that matter and not just one or two things. As well as its its not just some random record or best stat, it's the entirety of them including their bag, opponents, styles & Era which kinda go together. I don't factor the Titles AS much as some weigh them. It's not that I necessarily discount them. I just gotta be real. Jokers not playing with MJ's squad or with Lebron or Kobe's squads including super teams or pairings. You might argue he has Jamal and his starting 5 is arguably the best starting 5 in today's recent years or at least top 3/top 5, but he's never even played with another  all-star, EVER. The on off stats as everyone knows especially are just insane when Joker is on or off the floor & he's playing his whole career in a fly-over city that had never won a title before he came and delivered the first in 47 YEARS! So I almost weigh his one as a two or three but I honestly feel that even if you took titles completely out or evened them up, Joker is just better at SO much more and let me say...MJ, Lebron, Kobe and the legends (if on equal footing) have HUGE bags too. But they are not really an all positions player or a 7 footer that plays with the mind and skills of not just a big man or a wing, but as the usual smallest and/or best handling play making guard type of mind that Jokić plays with. They either have one or the other & then a solid bag of tricks and skills based on that position. It's rare to see a guy that looks like him, pass & have the vision like magic, shoot like MJ or Bird even at 3pt%, dominate the post like Shaq, Duncan, the great Hakeem Olajuwon or Kareem while having an absolute elite level Court Mapping skill unlike anyone really for the levek its at but id put in guys like Magic, Kobe & Lebron but even Lebron thinks Jokić court maps st a level unlike amy other, has an extra shot named after him like Dirk(the somber shuffle), Dominates the playoffs like MJ and way better in the playoffs than Bird so you could argue he's got a clutch game like any if the best including MJ and probably more I'm not thinking of. Sorry. Old & terminally ill. Brain fog is killer. 

See, I say all this but it sounds kinda like I'm trying to pull someone down, but I actually feel very similar to you guys as far as putting those guys at the top. It's just for me, who's seen every Jordan game, Every Jokić game & a metric F ton of Bird, Kobe & Lebron as well. I just cannot watch all of every one of those guys but that's ok. I saw enough of Birds peak, the best of Kobe & still watch Lebron of course. I just personally feel that Jokić is not just the greatest player I feel I have EVER seen if you take into account everything and you somehow equal up their teams/titles only because we're not talking about the singular player with those. You can, but you can't win a title by yourself (unless you count zero other Allstars but even then...its just hard to put a legitimate value on those because they are vastly different in many ways. But boil it down to season & post season personal stats, advanced metrics & eye test, I put Jokić at the very top by a slim but bigger margin than you might think especially after this year! I've been saying he cannot get ANY better EVERY year but he finds a way to out do himself & add SOMETHING more to his already ginormous bag of skills & shots...you add in the IQ ...man. I dunno. 

I wouldn't sit and argue with either one of you guys that replied, I'd just say we agree to disagree although we have them up there together for sure. I just personally feel that Nikola Jokić, even moreso as a player drafted where he was during a taco bell commercial and was asleep when it happened, is the best IVE ever seen play the entire game of basketball as well as have the basketball IQ of a genius unlike anyone. Who literally knows and sees things happen before they happen & will often times put his teammates in the exact place as well as direct them to do a certain thing or look for it being another coach on the floor. He'll even draw up plays all while also being the most humble man I've seen. I mean, basketball is just a job for him and he's not looking for the spotlight, the spotlight looks for him, the fat kid who drank a liter of coca-cola every day but transformed himself into not just the greatest story
